Edwards & Williams

breeze to victory @ C.A.B.A. Hubbard/Tawakoni division

season finale on Tawakoni

Saturday August 12, 2006 – Wills Point Texas…… THE TRITON/CHRISTIAN ANGLERS BASS ASSOCIATIONS’ August season Hubbard/Tawakoni season finale make-on Tawakoni greeted the participating anglers with cloudy skies and rain, yes rain in the area!  During takeoff I could see lighting in the far distance but it wasn’t close enough to cause any danger to our anglers.  Our participants can always be sure there will be a delayed start at any C.A.B.A. event when lighting close by.  The safety of our participants is always the most important factor.  The Hubbard/Tawakoni division Anglers of the Year title was on the line at Tawakoni.  With less than 12 points separating the first and second place teams, anything was possible.  But at the day end Swindall & Young “Got R Done”.  They will be fishing this division free of entries fees during the 2007 Hubbard/Tawakoni division Championship qualifying tournament season!  Great job guys!

The team of Edwards & Williams once again emerged victorious with a 5 fish limit of Tawaknoi bass weighing in @ 24.58 lbs.  They also took home a $100.00 cash bonus for a 4.00 lb. even weight bass sponsored by Richardson Auto Glass.  R/A/G has several metro-plex locations so give Shawn Queen a call at 972-238-1851 if you need any type of auto glass repair.  THANKS R/A/G for your support of C.A.B.A.!They produced their winning stringer by working a variety of baits at a variety of locations in very shallow water.  After all this is Tawakoni!  Good job guys.

Rounding out the top 5 teams were Parker & Parker in 2nd place with another limit weighing 19.11 lbs.  Davis & Humphries took 3rd place with 17.54 lbs.  4th place went to Baird & Settle with a weight of 17.20 lbs..  They also took home big bass honors with a nice Tawakoni bass weighing 7.78 lbs.  5th place went to the team of Crane & Pierce with 16.68 lbs.

During this event C.A.B.A. benefited Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship ministry based out of Wylie, Texas.  This was our first time to benefit them, and it was a pleasure.  During this event we raised $365.00 for Equest.  I look forward to raising even more at our Roadrunner division season finale on Palestine August 19.  I hope to see you there!

The 10% retained from our monthly entry fees in used to support various charities throughout each tournament season.  It’s this cause that separates C.A.B.A. from all other tournament circuits!  This is our reason for being.  So remember, as your team participates in any C.A.B.A. monthly event you are helping us make life a little better for those less fortunate.  Also remember that 10% of all entry fees (both monthly & weekly) and your membership fee is tax deductible.

Our “Early Entry” bonus drawing winners for this event was the team of Chadwick & Jones.  By sending in their entry fee early they were entered into our “Early Entry” bonus drawing and by winning the drawing, they won $100.00 cash.  At least one member of each team that has entered the bonus drawing must be present to win.  If the team that wins is not present, then we will draw until we have a winner.

The 2006 membership drive is underway and the member that is responsible for the most new members to join C.A.B.A. will receive some great prizes that will be awarded at our ’06 CHAMPIONSHIP.  We will have 4 membership drive winners, 1 from each of our qualifying division, so get busy guys!  It’s through our members sharing the news and vision of C.A.B.A. this ministry outreach grows, so please continue to spread the word!

The Hubbard/Tawakoni division season is now complete.  For those who supported C.A.B.A. by fishing this division I want to say thank you!  Without you we could not do what we are called to do.

I also want to take this opportunity to say a very special THANK YOU to Neal Hart with Triton Boats along with Joe Wallace of North Texas Marine for their faithful support.  It is a pleasure to be affiliated with Triton Boats and North Texas Marine.  They have truly been a blessing to C.A.B.A.  I encourage anyone that is thinking of purchasing a new boat to strongly consider a Triton.  Give Rick Vanderwheel (817) 246-2100 of the Fort Worth facility or Joe Wallace (940) 263-1737 of the Gainesville facility a call to take a look at the entire Triton line.  If you would like a demo ride in a TR21 give me a call!  The guaranteed 1st place at our ’06 CHAMPIONSHIP will be a fully rigged, lake ready Triton Tr196 with 200 Optimax, Motor Guide T/M and amenities.

For those teams that continue to be a part on this ministry outreach and to those that have just joined us, I again say thank you so very much.   Without you we could not accomplish our mission.  We do our very best to provide the best payback and amenities possible with the funding and sponsorship we have available.  Those who fish with us are accomplishing much more than just having the chance to win a monetary reward.  For our work is eternal.  Each time you fish a C.A.B.A. monthly or weekly event you allow us to give to ministries that are doing what the Lord has called them to do.  Without our support they would be hindered in their ministry outreach!  Each time you fish a weekly C.A.B.A. event you help support this ministry, which in turn allows us to do what God has called us to do.

As always, if you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to call.  I continue to pray that the Lord of Glory will richly bless you and yours.

 Mike
