Hope & Killingsworth

victorious @ C.A.B.A. Roadrunner division on Tawakoni

Saturday July 29, 2006 – Wills Point, Texas…… THE TRITON/CHRISTIAN ANGLERS BASS ASSOCIATION roadrunner division event on Tawakoni greeted the anglers with a slight breeze and beautiful morning at takeoff.  Then as it often does in July in Texas it GOT HOT!!!  But overall it was a great day on the ‘ol girl and again Tawakoni produced well.  We have an open tournament schedules for October 14 but if the lake level continues to drop it may have to moved!  Hopefully we will get enough rain between now and then that we can still fish it as scheduled!

The team of Hope & Killingsworth managed to outdistance the remaining field by weighing in a limit of Tawakoni bass tipping the scales @ 18.08 lbs.  Their winning catch was produced by Carolina rigging several main lake points in 5’-6’ of water.  C.A.B.A. will return to Tawakoni on August 12 for our Hubbard/Tawakoni division season finale so I couldn’t get them to tell me the type of plastics they were using.

Rounding out the top 5 teams were Baumann & Williams in 2nd place with another limit weighing 16.75 lbs.  Grandstaff & Turner took 3rd place with 16.11 lbs.  4th place went to Peace & Priest with a weight of 16.02 lbs.  5th place went to the team of Embry & Renfro with 15.80 lbs.  Big bass of the event went to the team of Grantham & Williams with a nice Tawakoni bass weighing 6.60 lbs.

Our July ministry of the month is Life Challenge.  During this event C.A.B.A. raised $524.00 for L/C.  Total giving for July is $1000.00 to Life Challenge.  Thank you Lord!

The 10% retained from our monthly entry fees in used to support various charities throughout each tournament season.  It’s this cause that separates C.A.B.A. from all other tournament circuits!  This is our reason for being.  So remember, as your team participates in any C.A.B.A. monthly event you are helping us make life a little easier for those less fortunate.  Also remember that 10% of all entry fees (both monthly & weekly) and your membership fee is tax deductible.

Our “Early Entry” bonus drawing winners for this event was the team of Traylor & Traylor.  By sending in their entry fee early they were entered into our “Early Entry” bonus drawing and by winning the drawing, had their choice of $100.00 cash or their entry fee paid for the following event in the Roadrunner division.  They chose the entry which is worth $150.00.  Not bad for a .39˘ investment.  At least one member of each team that has entered the bonus drawing must be present to win.  If the team that wins is not present, then we will draw until we have a winner.

Our August event and season finale for the Roadrunner division will be August 19 on Palestine out of the Villages Marina.  The ministry of the month will be Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship ministries based out of Wylie, Texas.  I hope to see you there!

The 2006 membership drive is underway and the member that is responsible for the most new members to join C.A.B.A. will receive some great prizes that will be awarded at our ’06 CHAMPIONSHIP.  We will have 4 membership drive winners, 1 from each of our qualifying division, so get busy guys!  It’s through our members sharing the news and vision of C.A.B.A. that this ministry outreach grows, so please continue to spread the word!

I want to take this opportunity to say a very special THANK YOU to Neal Hart with Triton Boats along with Joe Wallace of North Texas Marine for their faithful support.  It is a pleasure to be affiliated with Triton Boats and North Texas Marine.  They have truly been a blessing to C.A.B.A.  I encourage anyone that is thinking of purchasing a new boat to strongly consider a Triton.  Give Rick Vanderwheel (817) 246-2100 of the Fort Worth facility or Joe Wallace (940) 263-1737 of the Gainesville facility a call to take a look at the entire Triton line.  If you would like a demo ride in a TR21 give me a call!  The guaranteed 1st place at our ’06 CHAMPIONSHIP will be a fully rigged, lake ready Triton Tr196 with 200 Optimax, Motor Guide T/M and amenities.

For those teams that continue to be a part on this ministry outreach and to those that have just joined us, I want to say thank you so very much.  Without you we could not accomplish our mission.  We do our very best to provide the best payback and amenities possible with the funding and sponsorship we have available.  Those who fish with us are accomplishing much more than just having the chance to win a monetary reward.  For our work is eternal.  Each time you fish a C.A.B.A. monthly or weekly event you allow us to give to ministries that are doing what the Lord has called them to do.  Without our support they would be hindered in their ministry outreach!  Each time you fish a weekly C.A.B.A. event you help support this ministry, which in turn allows us to do what God has called us to do.

As always, if you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to call.  I continue to pray that the Lord of Glory will richly bless you and yours.

Mike
