Season finale on Palestine

 Saturday August 19, 2006 – Flint, Texas…… THE TRITON/CHRISTIAN ANGLERS BASS ASSOCIATION roadrunner division season finale on Palestine greeted the anglers with a still and very warm conditions at takeoff.  In spite of the August heat we saw numerous limits and some good stringers of Palestine bass come to the scales.  Unfortunately we lost more fish than we had hoped.  I know our teams do their best to take care of their catch, but sometimes the fish are lost.  On this note, beginning in’07 our Championship qualifying season will end in July.  Hopefully this will help.  After the qualifying portion of our season is over we will still have plenty of Open Team opportunities available for those who would like to participate.  Our ’07 schedule will be available at the first of October.  The Roadrunner division Anglers of the Year title was on the line at Palestine and when the dust had settled Gray & Mathews “Got R Done”.  For their efforts they will be fishing this division free of entries fees during the 2007 Roadrunner division Championship qualifying tournament season!  Great job guys!

  The team of Farmer & Herron managed to squeak by the second place team by weighing in a limit of Palestine bass tipping the scales @ 16.44 lbs.  Their winning catch was produced by fishing crank baits on main lake points from 5’ to 25’ of water.  Great job guys!

 Rounding out the top 5 teams were Kilmer & Taylor in a very close 2nd place with another limit weighing 16.13 lbs.  Harris & Fuller took 3rd place with 14.55 lbs.  They also got big bass of the event with a nice Palestine bass weighing 6.42 lbs.  4th place went to Mayne & Metzig with a weight of 14.25 lbs.  5th place went to the team of Star & Williams with 14.15 lbs.

 During this event C.A.B.A. benefited Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship ministry based out of Wylie, Texas.  This was our first time to benefit them, and it was a pleasure.  During this event we raised $456.00 for Equest.  Total giving for August is $825.00 to Equest.  Thank you Lord!

 The 10% retained from our monthly entry fees in used to support various charities throughout each tournament season.  It’s this cause that separates C.A.B.A. from all other tournament circuits!  This is our reason for being.  So remember, as your team participates in any C.A.B.A. monthly event you are helping us make life a little easier for those less fortunate.  Also remember that 10% of all entry fees (both monthly & weekly) and your membership fee is tax deductible.

 Our “Early Entry” bonus drawing winners for this event was the team of Copeland & Lipsey.  By sending in their entry fee early they were entered into our “Early Entry” bonus drawing and by winning the drawing, they won $100.00 cash.  At least one member of each team that has entered the bonus drawing must be present to win.  If the team that wins is not present, then we will draw until we have a winner.

 The 2006 membership drive is underway and the member that is responsible for the most new members to join C.A.B.A. will receive some great prizes that will be awarded at our ’06 CHAMPIONSHIP.  We will have 4 membership drive winners, 1 from each of our qualifying division, so get busy guys!  It’s through our members sharing the news and vision of C.A.B.A. that this ministry outreach grows, so please continue to spread the word!

 For those teams that continue to be a part on this ministry outreach and to those that have just joined us, I want to say thank you so very much.  Without you we could not accomplish our mission.  We do our very best to provide the best payback and amenities possible with the funding and sponsorship we have available.  Those who fish with us are accomplishing much more than just having the chance to win a monetary reward.  For our work is eternal.  Each time you fish a C.A.B.A. monthly or weekly event you allow us to give to ministries that are doing what the Lord has called them to do.  Without our support they would be hindered in their ministry efforts!  Each time you fish a weekly C.A.B.A. event you help support this ministry, which in turn allows us to do what God has called us to do.
